Upcoming events
The Chababona Association, in collaboration with the Midelt Education Directorate, is organizing an international volunteer program for a group of 10 foreign volunteers. Over 15 days, they will share their knowledge and talents with Moroccan students aged 11–12 through language and environmental activities.

🗓️ Weekly Educational Activities (Monday to Thursday) A set of educational and intercultural workshops designed for students aged 11, allowing volunteers to share knowledge and skills interactively. Activities take place at Hassan Dakhil Middle School, though the program may include outings or site visits.
- 👥 Target: Students + Volunteers
- 📚 Group: 2 volunteers + 1 Moroccan coordinator for every 15 students
- 1. Intercultural Reading Workshop – Discover literature from different cultures and discuss themes and values.
- 2. Learning a New Language – Volunteers introduce basic vocabulary and phrases from their native language.
- 3. Natural Sciences Workshop – Hands-on experiments on nature (e.g., cloud formation, plant growth).
- 4. Career Exploration – Introduce students to professions in the volunteers’ countries.
- 5. World History & Geography – Interactive lessons on countries, continents, and historical events.
- 6. Environmental Group Project – Create a model or campaign on eco-topics (recycling, water saving).
- 7. Role-Playing & Educational Games – Develop social and problem-solving skills through simulations.
- 8. Creative Writing & Journalism – Write articles, create a newsletter documenting the program.
- 9. Geography & Map Skills – Create maps or treasure hunts based on landmarks.
- 10. Sports Activities – Introduce and play different sports, focusing on teamwork and basics.
- 11. Conflict Resolution & Social Skills – Role-play and discussions on peaceful conflict management.
- 12. Comic Strip or Short Film Project – Students and volunteers create creative visual stories.
- • Cultural Visits: old medinas, kasbahs, museums
- • Local Encounters: artisans, cooperatives, rural families
- • Leisure Time: hammam, storytelling, local music & traditional meals
🌍 WEEKEND DISCOVERY PROGRAM (Fri–Sun) For volunteers only, to reward their commitment with immersion experiences.
- 🚌 Logistics: Transportation, lodging & meals included.
- 👥 Supervised by: Local guides and experienced coordinators
- • Friday: Ahouli Mines – Mysterious industrial ruins, colored cliffs, and the Moulouya River
- • Sat–Sun: Merzouga – Iconic Sahara desert site with camel rides and starry nights
- • Fri–Sat: Jaafar Gorges – Scenic, off-the-beaten-path location for nature and hiking lovers
- • Sunday: Tatiouine – Berber village with orchards, cliffs, and peaceful trails near Mount Ayachi

History of the association (founded in 2014)
Founded in 2014 in Midelt, Chababona is a cultural association dedicated to empowering youth through art, creativity, and cultural expression. Its main mission is to promote and enhance youth culture, while encouraging cultural exchange and dialogue among young people from diverse backgrounds. Through a variety of artistic, educational, and social activities—including workshops, events, performances, and intercultural programs—Chababona provides a vibrant platform where young people can express themselves, connect, and grow. The association strives to be a space for dynamic engagement, creativity, and personal development for a generation that values both tradition and innovation.
ExperienceOur association has experience working with international volunteers. We’ve organized several exchange programs and collaborative projects where volunteers from different countries engaged with local youth through educational, cultural, and environmental activities. These experiences have helped us build strong intercultural connections and deliver meaningful impact in our community.
